Planner/Urban Designer (3+ Years Experience)

 

McCormick Taylor is a multidisciplinary planning and engineering consulting firm. The primary focus of McCormick Taylor’s Land Use Planning and Urban Design Group includes developing planning strategies, conceptual designs, and implementation tools for our public sector clients, including comprehensive plans, design guidelines, small area plans, transit-oriented development studies, and corridor plans.

 

McCormick Taylor is looking for a creative and talented Planner/Urban Designer in our Philadelphia office. The candidate would be responsible for writing technical project documents and developing planning and urban design alternatives.

 

Qualifications:

Qualified candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in urban planning or related field (Master’s preferred) combined with education in design (architecture, urban design, or landscape architecture) and at least three years of planning experience.

Proficiency in Illustrator and Photoshop CS6, and Microsoft Office is required. Knowledge of ArcGIS Version 10.1, Google SketchUp, Microstation V8i and AutoCAD is desirable.

 

Excellent facilitation and communication skills, understanding of physical planning, superior writing skills, and an ability to think creatively and independently are essential.
