Congratulations to the Allegheny County Department of Economic Development - the 2011 recipient of the Daniel Burnham Award for a Comprehensive Plan! The award was presented by the PA Chapter of APA in recognition of Allegheny Places; the county’s first-ever Comprehensive Plan. McCormick Taylor led a consultant team to develop the Plan, which establishes a vision for the county and a policy guide for its future growth, economic development, land use, and conservation. The Comprehensive Plan acts as a blueprint for the strategic use of public resources to optimize quality of life in the county.
