On Monday April 9, 2012 Friere Charter School hosted its 7th Annual Bridge to Wisdom Reception at the Franklin Institute.  This year’s award went to Shane Victorino of the Philadelphia Phillies because of his foundation’s contributions to undeserved youth in both Hawaii and Philadelphia. The Shane Victorino Foundation donated close to a million dollars to the Nicetown Boys & Girls Club which was renovated and reopened in September 2011.
