MSHA’s Environmental Monitor (EM) Toolkit Gets the Gold!

McCormick Taylor was recently recognized, along with Maryland SHA and the technical development team, at the Performance Excellence Training Conference. The award is for the Environmental Monitor’s Toolkit, a web-based database program that efficiently tracks compliance with the Army Corps of Engineers and the Maryland Department of the Environment wetland permitting process. The Toolkit is used during the construction phase of SHA projects. The idea for the toolkit was born out of SHA’s voluntary efforts to improve their environmental compliance reporting practices with highway construction projects. The effort was largely coordinated by McCormick Taylor, our subconsultant RAM Consulting, and SHA’s Environmental Programs Division (EPD). The Toolkit was also featured at AASHTO’s Standing Committee on the Environment conference in 2007.
