Bio

Sam became interested in environmental engineering through her passion for the environment and curiosity for how things work. She joined McCormick Taylor in 2018 and develops Erosion and Sediment Control Plans for overhead utility projects and Horizontal Directional Drilling projects. She also performs Operational Compliance services for our energy clients such as conducting stormwater management inspections as well as inspections for spill prevention, control and countermeasure, and stormwater pollution prevention plans.

Sam was recently part of a team that created a temporary grading plan for a 29.3-mile utility corridor. The majority of the corridor consisted of steep terrain where the work pads for the pole replacements and the access roads needed to be temporarily graded in order to access the project locations. InRoads was a significant tool used in order to create the grading files and successfully develop the Erosion and Sediment Control Plans.

Sam’s favorite McCormick Taylor memory involves saving a kitten. While at a site inspection in Maryland, she found a kitten in the basement of an operations building. The kitten was visibly underweight and must have been stuck down there for a few days before she was found. Sam took her to the vet immediately after the site visit and found her a loving home with one of Sam's friends.

In her free time, Sam enjoys hiking and running with her dog, skiing, and doing jigsaw puzzles while watching true crime documentaries.
