SEPTA COMMUNICATIONS CONTRACT

McCormick Taylor supported SEPTA's communications efforts by redesigning their website to enhance user experience, integrating real-time features, and consolidating multiple platforms to streamline access to transit information.
THE CHALLENGE
SEPTA requires a comprehensive communications strategy to manage and enhance its vast array of services and projects, which include large-scale capital initiatives with significant customer impacts. The challenge lies in developing clear, effective, and accessible communication channels that cater to a diverse audience while adhering to technical and regulatory standards, such as the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
HOW WE HELPED
Under this contract we are supporting multiple work orders which include the website redesign. McCormick Taylor worked closely with SEPTA stakeholders to design and deliver a completely reimagined, transit-focused website that prioritizes customer needs. Merging the existing WordPress-based site with a separate Angular-based real-time web application was critical for streamlining and enhancing SEPTA’s primary online experiences. We undertook a comprehensive visual and technical overhaul of both the site and app, introducing a unified, mobile-optimized user interface and navigation structure that creates a cohesive online experience.
The redesign introduced several new interactive features for real-time updates and trip planning, inspired by customer feedback, two of which were rapidly developed during a three-month public beta period prior to the launch.
RESULTS
The introduction of SEPTA Metro, a rebranded rail network, significantly influenced the new design, which incorporates Metro’s vibrant color palette, bold typography, and iconography. Additionally, migrating content from Planning.SEPTA.org and ISEPTAPHILLY.com reintegrates SEPTA’s voice and vision into the main site while reducing the complexity of managing multiple platforms. McCormick Taylor continues to provide ongoing support to maintain and enhance the site.
