What does McCormick Taylor do to help you improve your work-life balance?

McCormick Taylor has always been incredibly understanding and supportive of work-life balance. I firmly believe the key factor is the people who make up the company. From leadership to the interns, we all have the same mantra: we are a family at McCormick Taylor. When you are family at work, work-life balance becomes second nature.

Do you have any advice for new dads in the workforce?

I think the best advice I can give new dads is: YOU CAN DO THIS. Not only that, but you can do this better than anything you have done before. It isn’t going to be easy, but it’s worth it. Don't just tell your kids you love them every day, show them.

What does McCormick Taylor do to help you improve your work-life balance?

I feel wholly supported by McCormick Taylor at all levels to have a healthy and balanced lifestyle. I am encouraged to equally give my family, my career, and my personal needs the care and attention they need. McCormick Taylor offers me the flexibility to adjust and shift my work schedule and work commitments to help me maintain a healthy balance that works for me. Even more so, my friends and colleagues treat me like family and are willing to adjust their own schedules or take on things for me to help me with my work-life balance.

Enjoy every minute of it and share in all the aspects of parenthood and fatherhood. Take time to notice all the small things with your child. Take time to share in the wonder and amazement of each new experience your child has each day. Always be there in a responsible and caring way—but also be present and enjoy the moments of all the emotions you will share. Every chance you get, hold and hug your child gently and tightly. Be a steadfast father, but also connect with your own inner child and sense of wonder while doing that.

What does McCormick Taylor do to help you improve your work-life balance?
The flexible hours and culture at McCormick Taylor allow me to work at the schedule that works best for me and my family. If I need to take time for appointments or other unexpected things that pop up, there is never a concern. I like to live by the work hard, play hard motto, and I think the culture at McCormick Taylor conforms to that mentality. I was able to use my sick bank time when my son was born to take two weeks off, which was a great experience and allowed me to really enjoy my time as a new dad.

Prioritization is always important, but it is even more so when you are a new dad. It always seems to be a juggling act, but through prioritization, you can make time for those fleeting moments of newfound dadhood.
