We are pleased to announce that McCormick Taylor received First Place in the Website category at SMPS Philadelphia's 2020 Marketing Communications Awards. The Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS) is a diverse community of marketing and business development professionals working together to move the A/E/C industry forward.


In July 2017, McCormick Taylor set out to develop an aesthetically pleasing and easy-to-use website that reflected the character of its people, projects, and culture in a genuine way. The new site would speak to audiences in a more personal tone, acting as a template for our external communications going forward.


Our previous website did not effectively communicate our range of expertise to our visitors, and it lacked the tone of our company culture. Because our target audience includes current and prospective clients and employees, we wanted to create a website that details the work we do and gives insight into what it’s like to work here.


Initial meetings with the Philadelphia-based web development studio, P’unk Avenue, included researching other websites for companies in the A/E/C industry, as well as gleaning inspiration from the websites of some of the most popular companies in the world. It was important that our staff have input in the site’s design, tone, and content. Smaller groups in offices around the company communicated their thoughts on McCormick Taylor’s strengths, tone, etc., and P’unk Avenue used that research to create a brand and voice guide for the website. Additionally, the company’s first tagline was created. “Our Work Moves People. Our People Move Us” represents the work we do to improve communities, as well as our talented staff who help make our projects a reality.
