Over the years, we’ve realized that the passion our people have for the charities and organizations they care about helps shape their personalities and drive them to succeed and we wanted to be a part of that. In 2017, we created a Charity Committee that is responsible for reviewing requests for charitable donations and allocating funds on behalf of the company.

By becoming involved with our employees’ different organizations, programs, and charities, we grow closer to our employees and the places we call home.

Vittorio Anepete, PE, a Manager of Transportation Engineering in our Mount Laurel office, requested funds for Guitars for Vets (G4V). Over the past twelve years, G4V has refined a guitar instruction program aimed at providing Veterans struggling with physical injuries, PTSD, and other emotional distress a unique therapeutic alternative. G4V pursues its mission to share the healing power of music by providing free guitar instruction, a new acoustic guitar, and a guitar accessory kit in a structured program run by volunteers, primarily through the Department of Veterans Affairs facilities and community-based medical centers.

Guitars for Vets is filling a need for so many veterans who struggle with mental health disorders as a result of their service to our country. The program provides a therapeutic venue for veterans experiencing anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, nightmares, and flashbacks from their military service.

Vittorio has served on the board of his community association (Birchwood Lakes Colony Club) with Bill Brown, the volunteer Chapter Leader for the Lakewood, NJ G4V. Bill has been volunteering for years with disabled veterans struggling with physical injuries, PTSD, and emotional stress. He provides free one-on-one guitar lessons to help veterans cope with their conditions through music. The program is run through the Veteran's Administration where veterans are referred to the program through their mental health provider. Once the student completes a ten-lesson program, they are provided a free guitar for them to continue their music therapy.

“I admire Bill for the work he does to help our veterans. It is amazing to see him combine two passions and do so much good for so many. I am happy we could recognize his efforts with a small donation to help further his mission.” - Vittorio Anepete

McCormick Taylor is thankful for the dedication our servicemen and women have given in the service of others.
