Bio

Susie leads the firm’s energy practice and brings a background in diversified environmental consulting experience to her role. She is a member of our operations team and works with ownership and upper management to help shape the firm’s goal setting and strategic direction to achieve growth in the energy sector. Under Susie’s guidance, McCormick Taylor’s energy practice was established in 2010 and has grown to include more than 30 engineers and environmental scientists and specialists committed to delivering projects with a focus on safety and sustainability.

 

With four decades of experience, Susie specializes in local, state, and federal environmental law and policy, wetland delineation, functional assessment, sediment and erosion control, stream restoration, wetland mitigation, mitigation monitoring, environmental construction inspection/monitoring, and environmental compliance. She’s provided program and process development, audits, gap analyses, development of EMSs, agency coordination, environmental studies, permitting, and environmental compliance programs that leverage GIS technology to a range of public and private clients.

 

After many years in Maryland, Susie and her husband now reside in Thurmond, NC on their working ranch. When she is not working or traveling for work, she spends her free time helping with the various animals on the ranch, including alpacas, llamas, cattle, ponies, sheep, goats, chickens, cats, and dogs.
